“We want to make sure your show is non-invasive…”
What does that mean?
The name of my company is “Shizzle Dizzle Magic”… We’re about as subtle as a hand grenade…
Actually a well placed small tactical nuke is less conspicuous than we are at show time…
“Ok. We certainly work hard to not make anyone feel uncomfortable! Could you elaborate a little bit on your concern?” I responded.
“Well… The last guy we hired did a great show, but he pumped the audience for money at the end. We didn’t appreciate that since we paid him to be there…”
Oh… That makes sense!
All of our fair and festival packages include strolling magic services.
If you’re not familiar with what this is, it’s where we engage small groups of attendees and perform close-up miracles David Blaine style.
We do this for a few reasons.

As a festival organizer you’re probably used to working with bands.
You know what questions to ask and what to look for. You know what red flags to keep an eye on and what pitfalls to avoid.
Magicians are different. How do you know you’re getting someone who’s actually prepared to perform at a festival?
Anyone who’s watched American Idol knows that countless people think they can sing but can’t. Likewise not everyone who wields a deck of cards is a magician.
One of our specialties is festival entertainment. We’ve built an entire act just to accomodate this market.
Here are the common pitfalls magicians fall into when performing at festivals. Ask about these up front and you’ll avoid disaster later.

“Wow… I love you guys!” said the sound guy…
“You gave me a detailed outline of what you bring and how you’ll need it set! The group after you just scribbled down that they’d need assorted instrument mic’s!”
Yeah… That’s because we understand the business side of show business.
This one of the most awesome shows we’ve done in recent history. You guys were awesome!
We loved performing for you! It’s crowds like these that make what we do worth it!
Here’s some pictures from the festival below. Special thanks to our good friend Melissa Portala for taking these!

Everyone had a blast at the Ontario July 4 Festival! We had the opportunity to perform both our “Premier” show and our “EGGstraordinary” show!
Thanks to everyone who came out and made the shows such a success! We had some great pictures e-mailed to us after the event! Keep in mind that most of these were taken by folks using cell-phones, but they still came out great! Keep an eye out for more of our public performances coming up soon! (more…)
If you were scared away by the rain at the Miss Ohio Festival yesterday, you missed a fantastic show!
The sky cleared up and the weather was beautiful. We had a lot of fun sharing our “EGGstraordinary” comedy magic! The crowd came out and had a great time! Here’s some pictures for you to enjoy.
