Based on the media coverage, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the bullying epidemic is limited to the United States and United Kingdom.

It’s not… Bullying is a global problem and needs a global movement. This isn’t a national problem or a cultural problem. It’s a human problem.

Why is Nobody Talking About Character Education?

We have two different school assembly programs. One focuses on bullying. The other covers Character Education.

I have to stay up to date. I have tools that scan the web for stories about these topics and send me a regular digest. I post the best ones on this blog.

Over the past month there were around 1,100 notable articles about bullying.

For character education there were only around 200 stories. Most of them were about local schools implementing character programs.

Why Do Parents Lie to Let Kids Join Facebook?

A survey by Consumer Reports published in June found that there were 7.5 million users under age 13 (the site’s threshold for membership); more than 5 million were under 10. Over the year leading up to the report, a million children said they were harassed or threatened on the site.

Anti Bullying School Assemblies: A Different Approach!

These are real kids and their reactions to seeing kids get bullied. Whether you agree or disagree, you can’t deny that what these kids have to say is compelling.

One comment in particular got my attention.

There was an assembly last year. Everyone was crying afterward because it was so like… Powerful… But nobody got the message.

As someone who provides anti-bullying school assemblies this grabbed my attention.

Doing one hour of fun family activities each week is a fantastic way to strengthen family relationships, make kids happier, and help them do better in school!
