Cool Customer Comments: Wilson Memorial Hospital

One of the most gratifying things about what we do is hearing back from satisfied customers!

To be completely transparent for a second… Running a business is a lot more difficult than most people think. If I could spend all of my time performing, that would be great! That’s not the way things work though.

Getting packages like this in the mail really brightens my day. It really means the world to me, and that’s why I’m sharing it with you!

Addressing a Festival Entertainment Coordinator Concern

Hat with Money Inside

“We want to make sure your show is non-invasive…”

What does that mean?

The name of my company is “Shizzle Dizzle Magic”… We’re about as subtle as a hand grenade…

Actually a well placed small tactical nuke is less conspicuous than we are at show time…

“Ok. We certainly work hard to not make anyone feel uncomfortable! Could you elaborate a little bit on your concern?” I responded.

“Well… The last guy we hired did a great show, but he pumped the audience for money at the end. We didn’t appreciate that since we paid him to be there…”

Oh… That makes sense!

Awesome Thank You Note!

Saturday, April 9th, 2011

As you’re aware, we have a long list of satisfied customers. We love what we do, and it really shines through during our performances!

Frequently we get cool stuff in the mail from our customers. Occasionally I like to share those things here.

Notes like this brings me joy. I hope it puts a smile on your face as well!

Average, Good, or Great?

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Definition of the word praise.

An average magician…

executes a “trick” without revealing the method.

A good magician…

makes the “trick” entertaining.

A great magician…

makes you forget that you were ever watching a “trick” in the first place.

Rabbit in the hat cake for birthday party.

Take a good long look at that picture. That’s a cake. No, I’m not kidding you. That’s flipping edible!!!

Recently we we’re honored to perform at a birthday party where this cake was presented. The audience was absolutely amazing and everyone had a blast!

This cake was created by Le Cakery Bakery. Definitely check out their website. Krista does some incredible work.

Horizon Activities Center Performance

magic show at child development center

A while back we were honored to perform at Horizon Activities Center. They were an incredible group to perform for. The kids were a lot of fun and everyone had a blast.

Afterward the program director came up to us and said: “You guys were really good! As one of our staff members said, you won us over in the first five minutes!”

A few days ago we got a package in the mail. It was from Horizon. Inside was a really nice letter, some cards from the kids, and pictures from the show! This is one of the coolest things that’s ever happened to us.

Have I Seen This Act Before? It’s Deja Vu!

Friday, February 18th, 2011

I’ve watched a TON of magic acts.

It comes with the territory of my profession. I have to know what’s out there and what everyone else is doing.

I’ve seen many entertainers perform multiple times over the years. It’s always interesting to see how much, or how little they change their acts.

In many cases I see guys who are so used to doing “their thing” that an astroid shower could rain down upon the audience and they’d keep plowing forward!

It’s the same tricks done the same way with the same jokes. Year after year… Sometimes I can mouth along with their routines!

I’m not here to criticize anyone, but… Do these guys get repeat customers?
